A world clock for iPhone and iPad

Know when it's OK to call.

Hourlap lines up everyone’s day, with their working and sleeping hours, so you can see who’s working, who’s free and who’s asleep before you dial. One line down the screen is one moment, everywhere.

Hourlap

Built around people, not just cities

Everyone's day, lined up on one screen.

Most world clocks tell you what time it is. Hourlap tells you whether it’s a good time, for everyone you work with, love or travel to.

One line, one moment.

Every place on your Board gets a day bar, and the bars line up: a single line down the screen is one moment everywhere. Drag sideways and every clock moves together.

People, not just cities.

Add Priya in London with her own working hours, sleeping hours and workweek. Every row says “Working until 5 PM” or “Asleep until 7 AM” at a glance.

Best time, ranked.

Hourlap ranks the next week’s meeting times by what they ask of people: after hours a little, weekends more, waking someone up most.

Clock changes, before they bite.

Hourlap warns you ahead of time, with optional reminders, and says exactly how the gaps on your Board will change.

Widgets that keep time.

Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets update every minute. Small and medium are free.

Newer rules than your iPhone.

When a place changes its clocks for good, iOS can take months to catch up. Hourlap bundles the newest official time-zone rules and uses them only until your iPhone has them.

Make it yours.

Pick your own colors and icons for the day bars, or start from the colorblind-safe and monochrome sets. Patterns can stand in for color.

Try it

Drag the line. Every clock moves.

This is a live Board for right now, worked out in your browser. Drag across the bars to try another time, and look for the column where everyone’s green.

  1. Drag sideways

Every row moves together, so the line is always one moment for everyone.

  2. Read the colors

Green is working, blue is free, amber is the weekend and purple is asleep.

  3. Add your city

Type a city below the Board to see it next to everyone else, with standard hours.

Any workweek

Sunday to Thursday, four days, night shifts: everyone keeps their own hours.

Built for everyone

Dark mode, Dynamic Type and VoiceOver, with time-zone abbreviations and UTC offsets on every row.

Clock changes

The week the gap changes, you'll know.

Europe and North America don’t change their clocks on the same day, and the southern hemisphere goes the other way. For a week or two, twice a year, the gap you’re used to is wrong. Hourlap tells you ahead of time.

  • Reminders, if you want them.

A notification three days before, sent by your iPhone, not a server.

  • Gaps, not just dates.

“Priya in London will be 5h ahead of Chicago (not 6h) until Nov 1.”

  • Up-to-date rules.

Places that change their clocks for good show the right time even before iOS catches up.

Questions

Straight answers, including the ones that start with “not yet”.

When can I download Hourlap?

Soon. It’s in final testing and will be on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Send a quick email and you’ll hear the day it’s available.

What do I need to run it?

An iPhone with iOS 26 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 26 or later.

Is it really free?

Yes. The free version has up to five places, Best time, clock-change alerts, and the small and medium widgets, with no ads and no time limit. Hourlap Pro is a one-time purchase that adds unlimited places, more Boards and the large widgets.

Does Hourlap collect my data?

No. There’s no account, no ads and no analytics in the app. Your Boards are stored on your devices. The only time the app uses the network is when you choose “Search Apple Maps” while adding a place. The privacy policy has the details.

How does it know when clocks change?

From the official IANA time-zone rules, the same ones your iPhone uses. When a place changes its rules and iOS hasn’t caught up yet, Hourlap uses the newer rules it carries until your iPhone has them.

Does it work offline?

Yes. About 70,000 places are built in, and every time is worked out on your device. You only need a connection to search Apple Maps for very small places.

Is there an Apple Watch or Mac version?

Not yet. Hourlap starts on iPhone and iPad. Other devices will come only when they work as well.

I bought Pro. How do I get it on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Settings in Hourlap and tap Restore Purchase. Family members in your Family Sharing group get Pro too.
